How to choose school shoes that last a full session
Most school shoes fail in one of three ways: the sole separates, the toe scuffs through, or the child outgrows them by November. The first two are about how the shoe is built. The third is about how you size it — and sizing up too far causes as many problems as sizing too small.

Buy for the foot now, not for next year
The instinct is to buy a size large so the shoes last longer. It backfires. A shoe that is too long makes a child trip, drag the toe and wear through the front months before the sole gives out. It also slides at the heel, which causes blisters.
Leave about a thumb-width — roughly half a centimetre — between the longest toe and the end of the shoe. That is enough for several months of growth without the shoe flapping. Children under five can add a full size in six months, so plan on checking the fit each term rather than buying big once.
Check the sole where it meets the upper
This join is where cheap school shoes come apart. A stitched or well-bonded sole survives a year of playground use; a thin glued seam does not, especially once it gets wet.
Bend the shoe. It should flex at the ball of the foot, where toes actually bend, and stay stiff through the arch. A shoe that folds in half anywhere gives no support at all.
Velcro or laces
Below about seven years, velcro wins — it stays fastened, and a child who cannot retie a lace will walk all day in a loose shoe. Above that, laces give a better hold across the top of the foot, which matters more as children get heavier and more active.
Black formal or white PT — check what your school asks for
Most schools in Waidhan and Singrauli specify black formal shoes for regular days and white PT shoes for games periods. Some are specific about velcro versus lace, or about whether logos are allowed.

Buy early in the season
Our full size range is in stock just before schools reopen. By mid-term the common sizes have sold through, and you end up choosing from what is left rather than what fits best. If you know your child is close to outgrowing last year’s pair, come before the rush.
